Disease Specific Workgroups
Disease specific workgroups are formed to develop long term follow-up data sets specific to the conditions identified through newborn screening. We currently have workgroups specific for metabolic conditions, hemoglobinopathies, endocrine conditions, and hearing loss. As new conditions are added to newborn screening, new workgroups will be formed.
NBSTRN
The Mission of the Newborn Screening Translational Research Network (NBSTRN) is to improve the health outcomes of newborns with genetic or congenital disorders by means of an infrastructure that allows investigators access to robust resources for newborn screening research.
