Laboratories Workgroups
The primary focus for this workgroup will be to develop a repository of dried blood spots (either real or virtual). We plan to work closely with the newborn screening laboratories and APHL to find a means by which States’ obligations of patient confidentiality and privacy are met, while ensuring the availability of and access to these materials. We will be working on developing a biorepository system and discussing a network for nursery based pilot studies.
NBSTRN
The Mission of the Newborn Screening Translational Research Network (NBSTRN) is to improve the health outcomes of newborns with genetic or congenital disorders by means of an infrastructure that allows investigators access to robust resources for newborn screening research.
